MEET THE ATHLETE

Jasmyn “Jazzy” Burns is an accomplished collegiate catcher and power hitter for Texas Tech, bringing elite offensive production and high-level experience to the Red Raiders. A native of Menifee, California, Burns began her collegiate career at Ohio State before transferring to Texas Tech, where she quickly established herself as one of the Big 12’s most dangerous bats. Known for her power, consistency, and ability to deliver in high-pressure moments, Burns has proven herself against top competition throughout her career. After earning NFCA First Team All-American honors at Ohio State in 2025, she continued that success at Texas Tech, helping lead the Red Raiders through another deep postseason run.

THINGS TO KNOW

Burns entered the 2026 season ranked No. 46 in Softball America’s Top 100, highlighting her status as one of the nation’s premier players. In her final season at Ohio State, she hit .455 with 25 home runs and 72 RBI, setting both an Ohio State program record and Big Ten single-season record for home runs while earning NFCA First Team All-American and First Team All-Big Ten honors. In her first season at Texas Tech, Burns hit .356 with 19 home runs and 61 RBI, earning Second Team All-Big 12 and NFCA All-Central Region Third Team honors. She also made a major impact on the postseason stage, hitting home runs against both UCLA and Alabama at the 2026 Women’s College World Series.
